New Clerk Appointed

Published: 17 January 2023

We are very pleased to announce that Di Hughes will be starting as our new full-time Operations Manager/Clerk for the Parish Council on 6th March. Di has 20 years Operational Management experience and we are sure she will be a great asset to the Council. We hope you will join us in giving Di a very warm welcome.

"I was born and bred in Reading. I moved to Theale in 1992 and have lived here ever since. The village has changed considerably in the last 30 years, but living in our village I hope my knowledge of our local community will enable me to empathise with local residents and their areas of concerns. I will support the Parish Councillors to improve the service we offer and expand/introduce new activities for all who live and work in Theale.

Some of you will know me from out and about in the village. I have a dog which I walk twice a day, I am a member of the church family at Holy Trinity, I’m registered at Theale Medical Centre and my Son attends Theale Primary School where I am currently volunteer for the PTA. In the past I have worked with the staff at Theale Green School too. When feeling motivated I try and run round Arlington Lake but the reality is that this is more of a fast walk than a run!

I join the parish council from Berkshire Maestros in a role which has required me to establish links and relationships with local funders such as Englefield Trust & Greenham Trust as well as partnership working with charities such Berkshire Youth & Age UK.

I look forward to taking up this exciting role and hope you will pop into the office and say hi."
